THE government has developed an app, called DepFund, for the disabled and their caregivers to access interest-free loans for their occupations, Amarin TV said this morning (May 8).
Mr. Anukul Prueksanusak, deputy government spokesman, said the loans are from the Fund for Promotion and Development of Quality of Life of Disabled Persons, Department of Promotion and Development of Quality of Life of Disabled Persons, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
The loans are divided into two categories: One is individual loans not exceeding 60,000 baht per person but if the borrower wants more than this officials will consider it on individual basis up to maximum 120,000 baht; the other is group loan not exceeding 1 million baht per group with repayment within five years at no interest.
The DepFund loan application for the disabled was developed under the concept of “enabling the disabled or their caregivers to access government services quickly”. It supports both iOS and Android operating systems and can be accessed via digital ID. In addition to the loan approval results, the remaining balance and repayment history can be checked, plus the loan can be repaid via QR Code.
