Chonburi Immigration, Police, and Tourist Police gift tourists fresh fruit as a good offering to celebrate the New Year holidays. Police Major General Achayon Graithong from the Immigration Police, Police Colonel Kemmarin Pissamai from the Chonburi Police, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sombun Uasamamaitri from the Tourist Police and other related officials walked through the streets of Pattaya in Chonburi Province on 30 December 2019. This includes the famous Walking Street where tourists from all over the world come to party and have a good time. Officials made sure that the area is safe for tourists to enjoy the celebration into the New Year of 2020.
Pattaya is so busy right now as locals and foreigners visit to join the countdown into the New Year. Officials walked through the streets checking security measures. There are also undercover police throughout walking street during this time to make sure that the bad guys won’t have a chance to rob or harm tourists during the holiday season.
While the officials ran the security check they handed out fresh fruit such as oranges as a good offering to tourists. Oranges represent wealth and stability, a good wish to foreigners visiting Thailand to celebrate the brightest time of the year.
As for in Bangkok over 2,000 officials are watching the safety at the biggest countdown event in Bangkok AIS Bangkok Countdown 2020 at Centralworld. The main goal is to beware of strange objects from entering the event area and to make sure that everyone enjoys the celebration. Central World has been hosting the biggest New Year countdowns in Thailand. It remains popular as many leading artists in Thailand including DJ’s come to show for the people who can all enter for free. The road from behind Lumpini Park to Pratunam Market Intersection and the road in Rama 1 starting from the Chidlom interaction to the Chaloem Phao Junction will be closed from 14.00 on New Year’s Eve to 5.00 on New Year’s Day.
