Thus, depa, along with partners in the education network, are expediting the creation of a workforce that is digitally competent. Which includes new graduates whose graduation has not yet been over 2 years, from both information and communication technology (IT), and general (Non-IT) fields of study, that desire to work in the digital technology-related field. Prompting them through the promotion of relevant skills suited to the needs of operators in the industrial sector which are compatible with international professional standards before entering them into the system. The process within this public and private sector partnership program, promotes new skills for students that are entering the job market by promoting key skills in fields such as AI, IoT, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Digital Marketing, totaling to over 1,000 persons.

depa is not merely cooperating with education networks, It is also a bridge that connects with private IT companies like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, SCB Academy, Salesforce, Thai IoT Association, and top business groups to design courses in upgrading the participant’s skills in order to meet the needs of the industry before providing certification for entering relevant careers. And after having their skill sets upgraded, project participants will meet business owners who are in demand of personnel with the relevant skills through Job Fair activities, which will lead to real employment into the economy. Furthermore, depa has a project which promotes employment of students that are at a job seeking age by salary subsidies of no more than 50% to the private sector that hires workers in the IT, and Non-IT fields, totaling 120 positions. In order to be an important driving force in upgrading the nation’s digital industry, increase competitiveness, and further strengthening the Thai economy,” said the CEO of depa.

Mr. Paitoon Sirichatchaikul, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries said that according to a 2019 survey of data on the readiness and demand of digital technology personnel in the industrial sector from a sample of 201 organizations. While most business operators had about 1-5 IT personnel in their organizations, 64% stated their organizations don’t have enough IT personnel. With the majority sourcing of personnel chose outsource services, up to 38%. The top five positions in demand were IT Management, Programmer, System and Network Administrator (Network Admin Jobs), Development and maintenance of CRM / ERP systems and website manager, respectively.

The employment promotion program for job-seeking students is now open for applicants who are interested in joining the program from today – 15 September.
