There has been a discovery of 4 new Covid-19 cases in Phuket Province. The Phuket Provincial Public Health Office reported the latest updates on the Covid-19 situation on 10 May 2020. From 5 January to 9 May 2020 Phuket has had 224 Covid-19 cases, 4 being the latest cases. Out of the total number 191 have recovered and returned home, 3 deaths, 1 passed away in a motorcycle accident, and 29 are hospitalized.
There are 5,621 high-risk individuals on close watch, 75 are currently admitted in the hospital and 5,546 have returned home. There are a total of 9,656 people who have been tested for Covid-19 in Phuket with 224 confirmed infected with the virus. Phuket Province have discovered 4 latest Covid-19 cases with details as follows,
- Case No.221 is a 23-year-old Thai female who works as an assistant secretary and lives in Cherng Talay, Talang District. The patient started developing symptoms on 2 May 2020.
- Case No.222 is a 29-year-old Thai female who works as an employee in a local convenient store. She lives in Wichit sub-district in the main city of Phuket. The patient started developing symptoms on 7 May 2020. 12 others are now considered as high risk after coming into close contact with Case No.222.
- Case No.223 is a 19-year-old Thai male who is a student and lives in Wichit sub-district in the main city of Phuket. The patient started developing symptoms on 6 May 2020.
- Case No.224 is a 29-year-old Thai male who works as a government employee. He lives in Patong, Kathu District. The patient started developing symptoms on 2 May 2020.
Although all 4 have been reported to have Covid-19, it is not yet official until the newly updated numbers are reported nationwide. All 4 cases have visited or are living in the high-risk areas in Phuket. The province has informed the people to always wear masks when outside, remember to practice social distancing and wash hands frequently. If you start to develop Covid-19 symptoms it is advised to seek medical attention.
