5 New Covid-19 cases all Thais returning from abroad.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported the current Covid-19 situation in the country at 11.00 on 23 August 2020. There are 5 new cases all Thais returning from abroad. All new cases were confirmed positive while in quarantine at a state quarantine center. Thailand has had 3,395 Cases of Covid-19 up to date. Out of the number 3,221 cases have made a full recovery while 116 are still under medical care. The death number remains at 58 with no new deaths. 

 

 

The 1st new case is a 41-year-old Thai woman returning from India. The patient works as a maid and arrived in Thailand on the 9th. She was on the same flight as the previous 19 confirmed cases. The woman went to quarantine at a state quarantine center in Bangkok and was confirmed positive after receiving her 3rd Covid test on the 21st. The woman was showing symptoms of the virus before receiving the tests and is under inspection to find out where she came into contact with the virus. 

 

The 2nd case is a 45-year-old Thai woman who arrived back in Thailand from England on the 10th. She went to quarantine at a state quarantine center in Chonburi Province. The patient was confirmed positive for Covid-19 after her 2nd COVID test on the 21st. She showed no symptoms of the virus before receiving the tests. 

The next 3 cases are male and 2 females returning from Oman. A 26-year-old female who is currently unemployed. A 29-year-old female who worked as a hotel employee in Oman. The last case is a 53-year-old male. All 3 cases arrived in Thailand on the 17th and have been in quarantine at a state quarantine center in Chonburi Province. All 3 were confirmed positive after receiving their first Covid-19 test. None showed any symptoms of the virus before receiving the tests.
