AXA Thailand General Insurance has introduced an innovative health insurance plan, the “Tropical Disease Insurance”, that addresses the growing prevalence of tropical diseases in the country. This plan provides coverage for five of the most common mosquito-borne diseases – Dengue fever, Chikungunya, Zika virus disease, Malaria, and Encephalitis – in an effort to create a safe and secure society.
Thailand has seen a rapid increase in cases of tropical diseases as of late. According to Department of Disease Control’s data as of May 31, 2023, there have been 18,173 reported cases of dengue fever, an increase of 4.2 times compared to the previous year. AXA’s “Tropical Disease Insurance” plan provides a convenient solution for people to protect themselves and their families against these illnesses.
The benefits of AXA’s “Tropical Disease Insurance” plan are far-reaching. The policy boasts an easy application process that does not require a health check-up. Furthermore, in the event of hospitalization for at least one night due to a covered disease, policyholders can receive a lump sum payment of up to 30,000 baht. This plan is also suitable for children as they can apply for insurance independently, with no need for additional accompanying insurance plans. In addition, the policy can be easily purchased online and customers can receive it via email in the comforts of their homes. The insurance premiums paid for the plan are also eligible for income tax deductions (subject to any criteria set by the Revenue Department, which may be subject to change).
AXA is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and assistance to the people living in Thailand in their fight against mosquito-borne illnesses. The company strives to contribute to the creation of a Thai society that is safe and secure, and to help reduce the mortality rate associated with these diseases. AXA is continuously improving the level of service it provides to customers, focusing on offering products that fully address the needs of different customer groups while delivering efficient insurance solutions.
