A Thai doctor posted on his Facebook page stating that he believes the Covid-19 number in Thailand is 8 times higher than the official number reported everyday. Doctor Manun Leechewong a doctor from Vichaiyut Hospital in Bangkok posted on Facebook comparing the death numbers related to Covid-19 with death numbers from AIDS related deaths. The doctor stated on 9 August 2021 “Throughout 40 years of working with HIV patients there have been over 40 million deaths related to AIDS. There are 35 million persons alive living with AIDS. Over 600,000 Thais have died from AIDS. There are over 400,000 Thais living with HIV. Antiviral drugs are a game changer.
Going back 40 years there was no medication. Today there are antivirals that are 30 times more effective. This has made HIV infected patients able to live as long as normal persons, even though there still is no vaccine for HIV. Since Covid-19 has started there have been more than 4.3 million deaths related to the virus. There are over 203 infected persons and the number of deaths when calculated is at 2% of all cases. This number may be higher than the actual truth. Specialists in the USA believe that the real number of cases should be times by 4 and in India the number should be times by 28.
Thailand has reported that there are 6,204 deaths related to Covid-19 with 756,505 cases. On average 0.82% end up in death. The real number of Covid-19 cases in Thailand may be 8 times higher than the officially reported numbers. This should make the chances of death 8 times less, bringing it to 0.1%. If all 70 million people in Thailand were infected with Covid-19 there would be 70,000 dead. This is a lot less than AIDS. The game changer in lessening the chances of dying from Covid-19 is the vaccine. It doesn’t matter what Covid-19 vaccine, you will have 10 times more protection compared to someone who is not vaccinated”.
