2 high risk individuals in Korat City, Nakhon Ratchasima Province did not quarantine and continued to sell drinks along with driving all over town. Locals fear the virus spreading even more. Kraisi Lotraprasert, the Deputy Mayor, Health Officials, Nakhon Ratchasima City Police, and other related officials went to inspect the area after receiving complaints. Villagers realized there are persons who have come into direct contact with the virus but will not quarantine as required in the safety measures of the province concerning Covid-19. Not only will these people not quarantine, but they continue to open their drink shop and drive around on a motorbike all day.
Health volunteers and neighbors have tried to ask the people to quarantine. Both of the women will not listen to anyone and continue to live life as usual. Neighbors and locals are all scared as they reside in a busy area with many residents. Officials found 2 women aged 58 and 59 years selling drinks in their store. Both stated they normally live with relatives but are now living in the shop. They have come into direct contact in a gathering where 4 persons tested positive for Covid-19. It has been 2 days since they started staying in the shop. They tested negative for Covid-19 and decided to continue selling drinks for money.
Officials explained to the women why they needed to quarantine. Because they tested negative for Covid-19 this does not mean that they do not need to quarantine. Both need to be quarantined for 14 days and take the Covid-19 test again for safety. If they do not follow the safety precautions they will be violating the Communicable Disease Act B.E. 2558. Violating the act means they can be fined for up to 20,000 THB. After hearing this information, both women stated they will now quarantine and follow the rules. Officials then placed tape around their home and gave orders to never leave the area for 14 days.
