Woman found free of HIV after many years

A 25-year-old woman diagnosed as having HIV when she was eight years old has been given a new lease of life after a new test found that she was free of the deadly virus, Sanook.com reported today (June 1).

The woman, identified only as Ms Suttida, was all smiles after she was declared by the Thai Red Cross as free of HIV after undergoing a new 30-minute Rapid Test.

With tears in her eyes, the woman thanked the doctors for giving her a new lease on life. “I am here at the press briefing not to seek any compensation,” she said. “I am happy that I will from now on lead a normal life with my two children.”
