IF you are in Muang District of Ratchaburi Province and looking for a place to eat, many locals will probably recommend a restaurant named Pa Aoi Lung Muek (Grandma Aoi and Grandpa Muek).
Seventy-two-year-old Wanchai Kooncharoen, or Muek, and his 62-year-old wife Aoi, have been running the restaurant for nearly 20 years, and the price of each dish has never gone up.
“A bowl of noodles is still priced at 10 baht,” said Wanchai. “For a bigger portion, the price is 20 baht.”
“With these prices, we still make a profit. The cost of living is still high, and we are happy to help our customers,” he said.
