Thai, foreign tourists pack Phang Nga beaches

BOTH Thai and foreign tourists packed Surakul pier at southern coastal Phang Nga province today (April 12) as they set out on trips to nearby islands during the current long Songkran holiday, INN News reported.

So many local and foreign tourists headed to Ao Phang Nga National Park and Mu Ko Similan National Park, which encompasses 11 Similan islands, to rest and enjoy the natural beauty that the beaches seemed to be overflowing with people.

Even though the low tourist season is approaching when the number of foreign tourists drop, this has not happened yet during the current long holiday.

With marine tourism gaining in popularity, officials are taking full care of holidaymakers and ensuring that passenger boats at various piers are safe before they set out, closely checking the the boat’s condition, the machine, the captain and that the load is appropriate.

Yesterday 2 tourist speed boats caught fire at Thap Lamu pier in this province with 4 person getting badly injured.
