Unforgettable barefoot weddings

OF the many ways to tie the knot with the love of your life, a barefoot wedding ceremony on the beach with the sound of rolling ocean waves is perhaps the most romantic.

Of course a beach ceremony would have to be barefoot, even though this is a bit zany, because walking to the sandy alter in flip-flops is perhaps even more inappropriate.

Thai_WeddingThis is one of the options that Manathai Hotel & Resorts is offering at either its Khao Lak or Koh Samui estates. The unforgettable beach ceremony would take place under a special oceanside alter beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers.

The other two packages are a traditional Thai wedding ceremony, featuring a range of appealing cultural elements such as a Thai long drum parade and a water blessing ritual, and a Western ceremony with special inclusion such as wedding celebrant to conduct the marriage ceremony.

“Couples that come to our resort to get married expect something unique for their wedding day and that’s exactly what we provide,” said John Gill, general manager of Manathai Khao Lak. “They enjoy the serenity and privacy of the location, and the possibility to have an intimate, personal celebration surrounded by stunning natural scenery.”

While Manathai is not offering an Indian wedding package, this country is in fact popular with Indians looking to hold a destination wedding.

During a familiarization trip by 17 Indian wedding planner last March, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said that this country hosts about 300 weddings from India every year with each wedding comprising about 100 to 600 people and lasting three to six day. Budgets range from 10 to 50 million baht an event.

TAT also mentioned that this country will be hosting the fourth Annual Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2017 during May 2-4, 2017.
