Ancient artifacts have been found recently in Surin Province. The local village chief and related officials visit a field in Dong Dang Village, Tha Toom District, Surin. 13 ancient artifacts have now been found following the first discovery. These artifacts are amphoras and specialists from The Fine Arts Department have confirmed the first Amphora found is estimated to be between 1,500 – 2,500 years old. Khaosod News Team went to visit the area on 4 January 2023. The first amphora was discovered on 10 November 2022 and villagers found more on 31 December 2022. Rongrat Jongutsa the Tha Toom village chief and related officials went to inspect the field belonging to Narong Kongsap.
Narong revealed he had a dream with a woman who told him about the ancient artifacts in his land. He followed the dream and went to dig in the land after waking up. Turned out it was not an ordinary dream as there were actually ancient artifacts under his land. There were also human bones near the first amphora found. Officials from the Fine Arts Department in Nakhon Ratchasima Province estimates the first amphora found to be between 1,500 to 2,500 years old. Currently a total of 13 ancient amphoras have been found in the field.
