Niyom Termsrisuk from the DEA revealed that the New Zealand Customs discovered 452 kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine hidden in 60 electrical motors placed in a container sent by sea from the Bangkok Port in Thailand. The drugs traveled from Thailand passing Singapore Port then arriving in New Zealand.

There have been 3 suspects arrested in connection with the case. These 3 suspects were the ones who came to pick the shipment up when it arrived in New Zealand. Officials believe that this is the work of an international drug dealers group. The drugs came from the Golden Triangle smuggled into Thailand then shipped off to New Zealand. The DEA, Customs, and related government sectors are working with New Zealand Officials to find the leaders of the drug group. Officials believe that the real leaders are foreigners with backup in Thailand. The case is currently in the investigation process and the Thai Police are preparing arrest warrants for the suspects involved based in Thailand.
