7 get death for killing Krabi family

THE Court of First Instance in Krabi sentenced Suriphat or Bang Phat Bannopwongsakul and 6 of his accomplices to death in the mass murder of 8 members of a family in July last year, INN News reported today (March 28).

Pol Maj Gen Boonvithi Tohraksa said defendants number 7 and 8 in this case were sentenced to 19 and 12 months in jail respectively.

From July 9, 20117 till July 10, 2017 the defendants massacred Vorayuth Sanghlang, a Krabi village headman, his wife and 6 other members of his family and injured 3 others.

When he was questioned by Police Chief Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda after this crime Bang Phat said he shot them dead because he was stressed out chasing a 3 million baht debt.

As this case carries a severe penalty, if no party appeals it is the duty of the Court of the First Instance to submit it to the Appeals Court.
