DEPUTY National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Siwara Rangsiprammanakul confirmed police have issued summons for 7 persons who together with the group for the restoration of democracy held a gathering in the heart of Bangkok on Saturday Jan. 27, 2018 , INN News reported today (Jan. 30).
A legal representative of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) filed a complaint against those summoned for breaking Section 116 of the criminal code and violating NCPO order No. 3 banning political gathering of more than 5 persons.
Pol. Gen. Siwara mentioned that the police will follow the law and there should be evidence of other supporters of this group which held the gathering at the skywalk linked to the station at Patumwan intersection.
Upon being asked what would happen if this group arranges a gathering every Saturday, Pol. Gen. Siwara said these gatherings can take place but they have to be within the law and the location they chose was also not suitable.
The 7 summoned persons are as follows: Mr Rangsiman Rome, Mr Sirawit Serithiwat or Cha New, Mr Netiwit Chotiphatpaisarn, Mr Anond Nampha, Mr Ekachai Hongkangwan, Mr Sukrit Phiengsuwan and Mrs Nattha Mahathana.
