A 73-year-old man received a power bill of 30,000 THB. The man was confused as he has never seen or been to the home before. The authorities informed him that if the bill wasn’t paid, he would be prosecuted in court. The daughter has proof that this bill does not belong to her father. Suchat Suwattanawan 73-year-old is from home no.413 in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Suchat revealed to Khaosod News that he received a letter from the Si Racha Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). The PEA stated he needed to pay an electricity bill that has been overdue for 12 months. The bill was 29,291.35 THB.
The man was shocked as he was now in debt from an electricity bill that he has no knowledge of. The PEA also provided that if the bill was not paid right away, he would have to go to court. Nalinrat Suwattanawan 43-year-old the daughter stated to the news team that she contacted the PEA but they insist the bill will have to be paid. The daughter explained to them that this home did not belong to the father. He has never seen the home and the current home they are living in now is their only resident. The PEA informed her the father needed to pay the bill.
Nalinrat wanted to know the cause of such misunderstanding. She visited the Bang Lamung District Office and discovered there was another man with the exact same name as her father, the spelling was also the same. There are 2 persons in Thailand with this name. The other Suchat lived in the home where the bill was from but is no longer alive. The father and daughter have filed a report with the Huay Yai Police along with the evidence.
