89kg of ganja seized in Songkhla
SONGKHLA police seized 89 kilograms of marijuana hidden in the ceiling and the walls of a van and arrested the driver today (Nov. 24), Thai News Agency reported.
This southern province’s Sadao district police said the driver they arrested, Mr Mayah Sani, claimed that his sister and brother-in-law hired him, for just 1,000 baht, to drive to van it to a garage in Pattani province.
He added that this is the first time he had committed such a crime.
Today’s drug seizure and arrest follows the rounding up of 4 members of a marijuana trafficking gang yesterday; with 83 kilograms of the drug being seized from them.
