A MULTIPLE-VEHICLE collision on Friendship Highway in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province, or Korat, killed 6 people and injured more than 10 others last night, Thai News Agency reported this morning (July 25, 2018).
The bad pileup in Soong Nern distrct started when a van hit an oil tanker at a U-turn point on the side of the highway heading for Bangkok. Almost immediately 2 more vans and a pickup truck crashed into the original accident and each other.
Rescuers quickly rushed the injured to Soong Nern and Sikiew hospitals.
It was initially determined that 2 of the 6 people who died were driving the first 2 vans in the pileup. The cause of this multiple-vehicle collision is still under investigation.
