Bank employees are shocked after the robber threw giant rocks at them. A bank robbery took place at a Krungsri Bank Branch in Nong Pai District, Phetchabun Province on 12 November 2020. Police are collecting evidence from the surrounding area including security camera footage to find the suspect. Nong Pai Police received notification at 11.30 about a bank robber who threw giant rocks at the glass door entrance to the bank. It is unclear whether this was intended to be a bank robbery or an attack targeting employees inside the bank as no money was stolen.
Police found a giant rock the size of a watermelon in front of the bank surrounded by smaller rocks. The glass door had a mark but isn’t broken from the impact. Officials sealed off the area and the bank temporarily closed down for the investigation. The branch bank manager went to file a report at the Nong Pai Police Station so officials could look at the security footage from inside the bank. Amazingly the bank is not damaged and the robber did not manage to get any money from the robbery.
The robber jumped on a motorbike parked nearby the bank and drove away. Officials are tracking down the vehicle in hopes to find the suspect. A food vendor near the area who witnessed the incident stated she saw the robber driving a red motorbike. The robber parked in front of the bank and soon after she heard a gunshot. Then the robber pulled out a giant rock before throwing it into the glass door. He then drove away before even entering the bank. The bank has not addressed the incident and the purpose of such an attack is still unknown. Officials are collecting evidence from the area to use in the case.
