A 53-year-old man in the central Thai province of Kamphaeng Phet died three days after being attacked by a swarm of bees, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported today (April 1).
The victim, identified by the paper only as Kamol, saw a bee hive on a tree in his tapioca plantation. He tried to dispel the bees with his cigarette smoke, but was stung in the head and body.
His sisters and workers found him lying unconscious and rushed him to the provincial hospital, where he died three days later, said the paper.
