Beware of theft gang aiming for Brand Name bags.
There has been a theft gang that specifically targets Brand Name bags, the main targets are shoppers in big malls. Police Captain Bapinwich Saenaplang from the Hua Khwang police Station in Bangkok reported that around 20.00 on 19 February 2020 a woman about 30 – 40 years old came in to file a report with the police after a theft gang stole her Brand Name bags. The victim was dining at a famous mall on Ratchadapisek Road with 3 other friends when the incident happened.
The thieves were very professional, whether they had already done this many times or they had practiced perfectly before carrying out the crime. The police will continue the investigation on 20 February 2020 until the suspects are arrested. The investigation police are collecting evidence including security camera footage and witnesses in the area. The victim will also come in for another talk.
The victim stated that there was not only one thief but many, they worked together very closely and each had a separate job in completing the plan. If you love beautiful items with a high price tag then make sure to hold it close to you on your next shopping trip at the mall. A good tip is to use 2 seperate bags, one always attached to your body with all your cash, credit cards, and important documents such as your passport and driver’s license. The other bag is for placing items that you can afford to lose such as makeup, clothes, and groceries.
The victim reported that the theft gang managed to get away with a Chanel wallet worth 30,000 THB and a Celine bag worth 70,000 THB, there was also cash and important documents inside the Celine.
