Police Lieutenant General Pokpong Pongpetra from the Metropolitan Police reported the seizure of 1,600,000 Yaba pills, 34 kilograms of Crystal Meth, and 40 kilograms of Ketamine. Officials also found a vehicle involved in the drug smuggling process and weapons. The Patrol and Special Operation Division 191 Police seized the drugs from Nipol Janprapat known as Hin and Anuwat Bunjeen known as James while they were in Bang Khae District, Bangkok.
Pol.Lt.Gen. Pokpong reported that investigation revealed the suspects have been renting a home especially to use as a drug warehouse. The drugs come in from the borders in the North of Thailand and then stored in the home waiting for orders to be delivered in Bangkok and nearby. The 2 suspects have connections with previous drug smugglers arrested in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi Province and Thonburi District in Bangkok.
During the same time period officials also arrested Toh-r Denbonfahthai 49 years old a Thai citizen with relations to the Karen people. He was found with 66 kilograms of crystal meth at the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit Bus Terminal), Chatuchak District, Bangkok. Toh-r was arrested at 5 am on 15 January 2020 in a Toyota Sport Rider vehicle in front of a 7/11. His arrest led officials to an abandoned vehicle with 31 kilograms of crystal meth hidden inside.
The suspect would deliver the drugs through multiple drug smugglers using public transportation from Mae Sot, Tak Province to Mo Chit in Bangkok. The drugs are then picked up by another group who would place the drugs inside the abandoned car parked on Nawamin Road. The drugs are then delivered to the buyer when the order is fulfilled. The information shows that the buyer is known as Ma-ah from Myanmar living in Thailand. Officials are continuing the investigation to the buyer and other drug groups involved.
