POLICE arrested two members of a drug gang which was transporting 98,000 tablets of amphetamine for distribution in southern Krabi province, Thai News Agency said today (Sept. 5).
First to be arrested was Ms Varaporn or N, 34, in Prachuab Khiri Khan province just as she was driving pass on her way to Krabi with police finding the large amount of amphetamines within a suitcase in the rear of the gray color sedan she was driving.
Upon liaising with Krabi police a second person, Mr Chirasak Chanyu, 36, was arrested at a house in Krabi Muang district and 200 tablets of amphetamine seized with police saying this was the distribution point within this province.
Police said Chirasak confessed he bought the drug from a man whose name he did not know for 4.5 million baht and hired Ms Varaporn to collect it from a store in northeastern Nakhon Phanom province and deliver in Krabi.
