Kaeng Krachan National Park has revealed the discovery of a family of big cats with 2 cubs playing with each other, one a black panther, and one a jaguar. This is great news for the National Park and is a great representation of the positive development in wildlife survival in the forests of Kaeng Krachan.
Kaeng Krachan National Park covers an area of over 1.8 Million Rai of land. Mana Permpoon the Superintendent of the Park reveals that there have been cameras placed all over the national park in hopes of capturing the life of animals in the park. The latest camera was placed on the west of the park, near Ta Nao Si mountain approximately 10 kilometers away from the Myanmar border.
The goal was to see the development of the wildlife in the forest near Myanmar. In order to reach the location, one must travel on foot for 3 days. The officers discovered human footprints in the area along with many signs of wild animals. The grand discovery is footage of a family of big cats playing together. A mother Jaguar was sighted leading 2 cubs that were playing with each other.
One of the cubs was a Black Panther and the other cubs was a Jaguar. Other wildlife found near the area include Elephants, Barking Deers, Asian Tapirs, and Bulls. This is a great sign that the wildlife population along the border is positively in development.
The officers try to keep a track of all the known jaguars, tigers, black panthers, and freshwater crocodiles. Lately, there has been more traces left behind by these animals. Kaeng Krachan National Park aims to become a World Heritage Site in the future as a diverse forest where many endangered animals can be found.
