British cyclist to go around the world again for the late King

A BRITISH cyclist who six years ago broke the world record for cycling around the globe flew in to Bangkok to pay respects and mourn for the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and announced that next year he is going to cycle around the globe again for the late King’s and the Royal family’s charities, Thai News Agency said this morning.

Alan Bate, who previously lived in Thailand for 10 years and has good relations with the Thai people, highly praised His Majesty the late King’s talents.

He also mentioned that six years ago he decided to cycle around the globe to help make the late King and the kingdom even better known with the starting and finishing points being in front of the Grand Palace.

Wikipedia said that on August 4, 2010, Alan Bate completed the circumnavigation in 125 days 21 hours and 45 minutes, which was ratified by Guinness World Records.
