A PUBLIC bus caught fire in front of Gateway Ekamai shopping center on the inbound side of Sukhumvit road leading to traffic tailing back all the way to Bang Na, INN News and Khao Sod daily reported this morning (May 8).
The blaze which engulfed this bus, Por Or 40, was put out in 15 minutes and while police were still checking the details, they confirmed no one was injured.
This bus fire led to only one lane of the inbound side of Sukhumvit road in front of this shopping center remaining open leading to a massive tailback till Bang Na intersection.
Police advise motorist to avoid this route and are channeling the traffic to Rama 4 and Thang Rod Fai Sai Kao roads. Motorists are able to enter Sukhumvit at Kluay Nam Thai intersection.
A Line message was sent to 199 radio station at 9.30 a.m. this morning which quickly alerted the Fire Department to rush there and put it out.
