Campaign to reduce plastic bags
To mark Thai Environment Day on December 4, department stores, grocery stores and mini marts around Thailand will stop giving plastic bags to their clients, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported today (Nov 23, 2018).
Several Thai department stores and grocery stores have already encouraged their clients to bring their cloth bags and other containers when they go shopping.
The clients are happy to do so because they can gain points, which they can accumulate and use them to buy from the stores.
