China and Laos yesterday (July 23, 2019) agreed to release more water from their hydropower dams to help Thai farmers fight drought, the Thai-language Daily News reported.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Thai Deputy Permanent-Secretary Attayut Srisamut and the Chinese and Laotian ambassadors to Thailand.
According to the agreement, China will release more water from Jinghong Dam while Laos will release more water from Sayaburi Dam.
