Chinese man hurt in football brawl with Thais

A CHINESE man was rushed to hospital in Chonburi last night after getting injured in a fracas with Thai men while watching the World Cup match between Argentina and Iceland at a restaurant, Sanook.com reported this afternoon (June 17, 2018).

Security camera footage at this restaurant showed a group of 4 to 5 men punching and beating each other with bricks and sticks in a free-for-all until a Chinese man wearing blue uniform fainted, after which they separated.

Phanat Nikhom district police rushed to the restaurant where they found shards of broken glass and bottles scattered and mingled blood in front. The injured Chinese man had by then been rushed to the district hospital.

An eyewitness ,Miss Phimprapha, 23, told police that this group of men, 3 Chinese and 2 Thais, who worked at installing a gas pipeline, came together and ordered beer while the Argentina versus Iceland match was taking place.

At half time when the score was 1 each, the men, who were drunk by then, argued fiercely and then one of the Chinese men, whose name is Leo, got up and punched one of the Thais after which all joined in bashing each other up until one of the  Chinese men collapsed and fell on the ground.

Police have summoned all 5 men for questioning about this violent football fight.
