A Chinese tourist climbed onto the connection between the Phyathai-Makkasan Rail Link for an unknown reason. At first, witnesses stated that he seemed fine and was sitting on the connection for a while, but then he suddenly fell onto the ground. The man was critically injured and has been delivered to the Rajavithi Hospital.
Around 1 pm on the 28th of this month, a Chinese man was seen climbing on the electric sky train rail connecting the Airport Rail Link stations Phyathai to Makkasan. Witnesses stated that he seemed like he was unwell, almost as if he was daydreaming.
A citizen near the area decided to notify Police Captain Pricha Bunaree from the Makkasan Police Station. The police then contacted the Phyathai fire station to prepare an air cushion and to bring it to the station directly where the man was sitting on the 3rd floor of the Airport Rail Link as a safety precaution in case he falls down.
It was later discovered that the man was Peng Xiang Yang 23 years old from China. When the man was standing on the rail link, he didn’t appear to have any intentions to jump down and seemed like he just stared into the sky or was watching the view. After about 10 minutes of sitting and standing on the rail, Peng fell down onto the ground below where he was sitting.
When the rescue team arrived, they discovered that Peng was critically injured and had at least one spinal fracture in his back. The rescue team immediately took Mr.Peng to the Emergency Department at the Rajavithi Hospital nearby.
As for now, the security cameras from the Airport Rail Link recorded Peng falling down from the rail link as what seems like an accidental fall. Peng was traveling in Thailand as a tourist on a vacation according to his Visa. The Investigation police will be investigating on the matter and interview Peng when he wakes up to find the real cause of the fall.
