Chon Buri opens beaches for tourists after Covid shutdown

Tourists and local food vendors returned to Bang Saen Beach in Chon Buri province this morning (June 2, 2021) after nearly a month of shutdown over the spread of Covid-19.

The Chon Buri Committee on Communicable Diseases said the number of Covid-19 patients has declined to lower than 100 for nine consecutive days.

Vendors can now sell food and drinks, and provide other services on the beach and around a reservoir as normal. But activities that may cause trouble, a spread of diseases or are against the law are not allowed. The ban on alcoholic drinks are still imposed.

Water Scooter and Banana Boat manager Weenat Pipat said he was so happy after his business was shut for nearly a month. Beach chair provider Anucha Chaiwongkoat nodded in agreement.
