THAI Customs officials today (Nov. 9) seized more than 116 kilograms of smuggled ivory tusks worth more than 11 million baht in a warehouse at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the Thai News Agency reported.
The tusks were concealed in several packages mailed from Congo. The smuggled items were declared by the sender as dried fish stomachs.
Since October 2016, the Customs Department has seized illegal imports of endangered animal parts and protected plants worth 350 million baht, said the TNA.
