Drought wreaks havoc in Korat

The most serious drought in 50 years has wrought havoc for rice farmers in the five districts of Nakhon Ratchasima, sanook.com reported yesterday (July 17, 2019).
The farmers in Phimai, Chumpuang, Noandaeng, Noansoong and Pratai districts are in tears as their vast ricefields have turned into parched land.   Irrigation Department officials said Phimai Dam’s reservoir has dried up, with no water flowing into the farmland. With no rainfall, other farmers will be in trouble.
