A big drug gang has been arrested with 1.6 Million Yaba pills and 3 kilograms of crystal meth. The information shows that the wholesale price is only 10 THB per pill, it is no wonder why so many people are hooked on Yaba in Thailand. Phetchabun Province officials reported on 9 May 2022 the arrest of 2 suspects named Satit Teein 32 years old and Thanpisit Robru 42 years old both from Phetchabun. The suspects were arrested along with evidence including the drugs, 2 guns, bullets, 3 phones, a bag, 2 land title deeds, 2 bank account books, and 4 cars worth over 23 Million THB.
Police reported that on 6 May officials received information that Yaba pills have been moved and hidden in 2 homes located in Lom Sak District, Phetchabun. Satit and Thanpisit have been renting the homes to store the drugs before distribution in the province and nearby areas. Police estimate that the 1.6 Million Yaba pills are worth 16 Million THB, the 3 kilograms of crystal meth are worth 3 Million THB, and the remaining evidence together is worth over 23 Million THB. After questioning the suspects they admitted that there is one suspect who got away named Amnaj Kaewpian. The suspects would store the drugs in the homes and then move them to different areas.
Police stated that Yaba pills are extremely cheap during this time. The average wholesale price is only around 10 THB per pill. The retail price is about 30-50 THB which is the same price as a normal meal in Thailand. It is no surprise that because Yaba pills are so cheap, so many people are addicted to the drug. The suspects are now waiting for prosecution and are facing charges related to the sale of drugs, possession of a weapon without permission, carrying the weapon in public, and more.
