Egyptian soldiers found with Covid-19 flown back home

Thai health officials have issued an urgent statement advising Thais and foreigners who might have been in close contacts with a group of 31 Egyptian soldiers who have visited a number of places in Rayong province during July 8-11, 2020 to get urgent medical check-ups if they become sick, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (July 13, 2020).

These soldiers first checked-in at a hotel in Muang District of Rayong on July 8. They left the hotel on July 9 and departed for Cherngtoo City in China. They flew back to the Thai hotel the same day.

The 31 soldiers left Thailand on July 11.

Thai medical doctors confirmed on July 12 that the soldiers had been infected with Covid-19.

Any persons who think that they might have been infected may call 1422.
