Facebook shock for Thai provincial governor
RATCHABURI Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum was woken up this morning (Saturday, May 27) by co-workers and friends who inquired if he had set up a Facebook page to solicit money.
The fake web page displayed several photos of the governor visiting people and his activities. A large number of people had clicked “Like.” Many called to congratulate his Internet prowess, according to Sanook.com.
“This is really shocking,” said Mr Chaiwat. “These con men are using my name to cheat people. I spent a lot of time this morning calling friends and co-workers about this fraud.”
“Is it so easy to carry out this kind of scam?” he asked.
