Foreign ‘policeman’ ripping off tourists in Pattaya

PATTAYA police are chasing a foreigner who has scammed tourists by claiming to be a policeman and both demanding and stealing money from them, INN News reported today (Dec. 26).

Pol. Col. Aphichai Krobpetch, head of Pattaya police station, confirmed that a post about this fake foreign policeman which has gone viral online is true and many people have been ripped off by him.

One of his victims has filed a complaint with the police and investigators have found out who his is and an arrest warrant has been issued for him. He has also been blocked from leaving the country and police are confident the suspect will be arrested soon.

Pol. Col. Aphichai said this conman only chooses foreign victims and at the right moment will drive up on his motorcycle and stop the victim and ask to search his or her bag. Upon finding valuables he will immediately take them and zoom away with the victim only realizing later what has happened.
