A MYSTERIOUS body of a foreigner, which is mostly likely that of a Northern Ireland man who disappeared from a raft house on Tuesday, was found in Kanchanaburi province’s Khwae Noi river this morning (August 30, 2018), Thai News Agency reported.
Police initially think this is the body of Mr Rober Lytle, a Northern Ireland tourist, who went to stay on a raft house on this river with his Thai girlfriend.
The body, which was found stuck at Baan Hat Ngew Bridge at the boundary between Thong Pha Phum and Sai Yok districts of this western province, was immediately sent for a forensic examination.
Meanwhile the Thai-language daily Matichon earlier reported that at 10.30 p.m.yesterday Miss Suphaphansa Pornkunthod, 35, a resident of Onnut area of Bangkok, together with an official from Sai Yok national park came to report Lytle’s disappearance.
She told police that on Monday August 27, Lytle and her drove to stay at a raft house on Khwae Noi river for a holiday and checked in at 1 p.m.
However that night they fought, and at 3 a.m. she went to sleep with the raft house’s housekeeper.
The next morning at 8 a.m. she went to look for her boyfriend, but did not see him around. She asked the other people on the raft house, and they said they saw him standing at the balcony at 7 a.m.
She asked the national park officials for help, and they had searched for him on land and water, also nearby mountains, but failed to find him. Although he had taken her mobile phone with him, but this could not be reached.
Suphaphansa said the 2 of them fought often, and he would disappear for 2 to 3 days but would always return.
