Four held for illegally crossing from Myanmar into Mae Sod

Two Thais and two foreigners were arrested last night (Jan 8, 2020) for illegally crossing into the Thai district of Mae Sod from Myanmar.

Acting on a tip-off, Mae Sod police and Tak immigration officers stopped a pick-up truck as it was passing by a corn plantation in Mae Konkainmai Village.

The Thai driver and his female companion along with a Malaysian and a Singaporean citizen were sent to Mae Sod Hospital, and all four were not found with Covid-19. They were later sent to the Immigration Office in Tak for legal action.

The four people had crossed into Myanmar to observe the construction of a casino.
