Gas truck explosion in Bangkok, Driver survives.

A gas truck was involved in a road accident and flipped over. The truck exploded shortly after and thankfully the driver and a passenger inside managed to get out and survived. The accident location is near the Rama 3 Bridge in Bangkok. The 199 Radio station and emergency number received notification of a road accident in Rama 3 at 14.45 on 29 November 2023. Firefighters and local officials went to the accident location right away. Officials arrived to find a flipped-over gas truck that was covered in flames. Witnesses in the area continued to hear explosion sounds and flames rising higher.

 

Locals in the area and other drivers on the road avoided going near the vehicle out of fear of getting affected. Firefighters and the local rescue team continued fighting the fire and managed to control the flames after 20 minutes. JS100Radio reported on their Facebook page at 15.13 the latest updates of the accident. The gas truck explosion caused traffic conditions to worsen in the area but drivers understood and chose to avoid the area for safety. Firefighters continued to use water as a method to cool down the truck.

 

Luckily there are no injured persons in the incident including the driver and a passenger who was inside the truck. A good citizen recorded a part of the incident and saw the driver and the passenger break the windshield to escape seconds before the explosion. When the accident happened and the truck flipped over a fire started right away. Another witness stated the truck came from the Rama 3 Bridge. He believes that a tire exploded and caused the truck to flip over. He was about to run in and help the people inside the truck but saw that they made it out safely. Road lights and some stores nearby were also damaged in the incident. Police are investigating the true cause of the accident.
