Gold robber Pantip Plaza now arrested.

A gold shop in Pantip Plaza located in Bangkok has been robbed. The robbery is now arrested after getting away with 37 baht of gold. Officials have been able to retrieve almost all the gold back. The suspect is a 21-year-old man who worked alone. Witnesses reported that the man was small about 170 centimeters tall. He wore a black hoodie, black jeans, boots, and was holding a gun. The robber ran away from the gold shop with 37 baht of gold worth almost 1 million THB. The gold shop was Toh Gang 1991 located in Pantip Plaza G floor. The man escaped on a stolen motorbike taken from a local in the area. The incident took place on 24 April 2021 and the robber was arrested on 27 April 2021.

Police General Suchat Thirasawat the Deputy Commissioner – General reported that police have arrested Worathanon Sompang 21-year-old wanted by an arrest warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Court. Along with the arrest, almost all of the stolen gold has been found. Officials are interrogating the man who is facing charges related to night theft, owning a gun without permission, carrying a gun in public, using a stolen vehicle to assist in a robbery, and more.

The man was captured on the security cameras showing him dressed in all black and a mask to conceal his face. He jumped over the glass counter to access the gold. He was also wearing a backpack. When the suspect was arrested, he was wearing a gray long sleeved shirt and long pants. He also shaved his hair and eyebrows off. There are many people facing serious financial problems during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many of lost their jobs and are struggling to survive day by day. Faced with all the hardships, it doesn’t qualify why one should turn to robbery.
