GrabBike user chased, threatened by motorbike taxi

A WOMAN Facebook user related a hair-raising account of being chased by 2 motorcycle taxi drivers who tried to hit her with a big stick as she was riding a GrabBike on-demand motorcycle last evening, INN News reported today (Nov. 22).

Police later filed two charges against the motorbike taxi men who admitted to having chased the woman because they were in a bad mood and wanted to have a bit of fun.

Facebook user Hataiwan Yasuta said she called a GrabBike at a university on Asok road to go to Ratchada soi 3 at 5.20 pm yesterday. As they reached the front of Fortune shopping center she noticed that a yellow-plate motorcycle taxi with the driver and a pillion rider whose faces were well-covered were following her with the man at the rear armed with a 4-inch wide and a meter-long stick.

After the GrabBike driver turned into Ratchada soi 3 the motorcycle taxi duo got close to her and tried to hit her with the stick but luckily the driver managed to dodge them.

They continued to follow her and only turned around and left after she threatened to call the police.

Hataiwan later filed a complaint with Huay Kwang police station and went with friends to search for the two motorcycle taxi men and found them at building number 253 on Asok road.

She called the GrabTaxi driver and contacted Lumpini police and the 2 suspects were sent to Huay Kwang station after admitting to chasing her out of bad mood and for some fun and were charged with harming and threatening others.

The GrabBike driver was fined 1,000 baht because his motorbike has not been properly license for public service.
