The Facebook Page “ChangTrixGet” shared the story to the online world in hopes to remind people to be careful of what they do with their passport. A Thai citizen was denied entrance into Taiwan because the last page in her Thai passport had the famous Japanese character “Hello Kitty” stamped on the page.

The owner of the passport revealed that she has used the same passport with the Hello Kitty stamp to enter many countries without any issues. The airline has also come out and verified that if there is an uncommon stamp in your passport that is not an official immigration stamp or a visa stamp, Taiwan has the right to deny you the entrance into their state.

Every member who was in the same group with the woman had missed out on the holiday opportunity in Taiwan due to the Hello Kitty stamp. After the story went online, Netizens had many opinions but almost everyone agreed that Taiwan had the right to deny the woman’s entrance.

Your Passport is an official document issued under the power of the nation that you hold citizenship in. It is not a normal book and should not be taken as a joke. Always keep your passport in a safe location away from children or pets. If something unexpected happens to your passport then you should renew your passport and report the issue before entering another state.
