A 19-year-old high-school student in the northeastern Thai province of Roi-et has been arrested and charged with robbing a gold shop.
Armed with a knife, the student went to the gold shop on April 24, 2021 and fled with 11-baht-weight of gold necklaces.
Crime Suppression Division (CDC) detectives and local police officers later went to the student’s home and took him to the police station for interrogation.
The student said he received more than 100,000 baht from selling some of the gold necklaces. He used part of the money to pay debts and kept the rest for himself.
The detectives later went to the suspect’s home and found seven gold necklaces hidden in his room. The necklaces were later returned to the gold shop.
