Khon Kaen Province flooded after 2-days of rain.

Khon Kaen Province is flooding due to 2-days of continuous rain. Related officials are working on lowering the water levels but if rain continues the levels may rise even higher. The Khon Kaen Governor has given orders to pump water out of areas where the water levels are high. Traffic is bad and the School for the Blind is heavily affected. Boats are being used to transport students and teachers from the school. Latest updates on 18 September 2023 at 11.30 show there is still continuous rain. Sri Than Road to Kamhai Road and Ban Pet Sub-district are the most affected areas. Parents who live in those areas have been using other roads that are much further to deliver their children to school. Small vehicles cannot pass through the affected roads.

The School for the Blind is dealing with high water levels of 50-80 cm. Related officials have been using boats to deliver teachers and students. This is due to some students still having to travel and study in other schools in Khon Kaen Province. Parents are also traveling to pick up blind students who choose to reside at home. Despite the circumstances, students and teachers at the School for the Blind are not giving up and continue to fight through the flood. There are plans to move all teachers and students if the water level continues to rise.

There is a Village named Piman Place with over 50 homes under water. Most of the residents in these homes have chosen to temporarily move out. With many residing with relatives in the province. The Governor has set up an emergency help center where affected persons can come get help and food. The officials are doing their best to move water out of the heavily affected areas but because there is continues rain, it is hard to succeed. Hopefully, when the rain stops water levels will return to normal within 1-2 days.
