Hunted croc heading for Patong beach

THE crocodile which had been lurking at Phuket’s Nai Harn beach since last Wednesday showed up at Karon beach and is now heading for Patong beach, Thai News Agency reported today (July 22, 2018).

The hunters, mainly Krai Thong River Basin Tapi team from southern inland fisheries prevention and suppression center with municipality officials, lifeguards, police from Chalong station and Third Naval Command Area officers joining in, got within 20 meters distance of the 3-meter long reptile as it was sunning itself at Karon beach, but the creature just shook its tail and disappeared into the sea.

It again later showed up at this beach, and after a while went back into the sea, and is now heading towards Freedom, Rawai and Patong beaches.

Officials have alerted people at risky areas to be extra careful.
