Thai police and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials yesterday (April 7, 2020) seized 350,000 illegal facemasks, 55,000 sets of COVID-19 inspection kits, 53,000 liters of alcohol and cosmetics hidden in several houses in Bangkok and its suburbs, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported.
The illegal goods seized are worth more than 50 million baht.
The raids by the police and FDA officials are part of the government campaign against people who have been hoarding goods and equipment necessary for preventing the spread of contagious diseases.
