BANGKOK Metropolitan police early this morning arrested 102 young motorcyclists taking part in illegal racing on Vibhavadi Rangsit and Songprapa roads, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (Feb. 10).
Acting on a tip-off, two groups of policemen laid in wait and swooped on the racers as they screeched to a stop at two roadblocks. A 16-year-old boy, who organized the races, was arrested on Vibhavadi Rangsit road.
The police took action after receiving several complaints from motorists and house owners about the loud noises from the racers.
The race organizer has a Facebook page, which he uses to contact racers. He has more than 3,000 followers.
