A heart-broken young man who could not cope with his wife having left him for another man stabbed himself in the heart with a sword in Lopburi, INN News said today (June 12).
Pol. Capt. Ekowit Sriniltha, a sub-inspector at Thathin police station in Lopburi’s Muang district, rushed to a two-storey wooden house together with a duty doctor from Ananda Mahidol Hospital and Ruam Katanyu volunteers upon being alerted of his death by a village headman.
Once there they found that Pornphan, 26, was lying in a large pool of blood and saw that he had used a 50-centimeter sword to stab himself on the left side of his chest.
Pornphan’s mother said she came downstairs at 5.20 am to cook rice for her family and was shocked to find her son lying dead in front of his bedroom.
She added that he son was badly stressed because his wife ran away with another man and left a little over a year old son behind.
Relatives had tried to console and cheer him up and did not think he would commit suicide in this manner.
Police have sent his body to the hospital to again determine the cause of his death although they are quite certain he stabbed himself in the heart.
